On July 26, a day after GOP leaders forced the U.S. Senate to take its first vote on health care repeal, Our Lives on the Line, a national coalition of health care advocates and progressive organizations fighting to save health care for millions, announced that U.S. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will join a rally at Freedom Plaza on July 29.

The rally will serve as the national event for a massive, nationwide day of action with nearly 125 events in 36 states that will lift up the stories of millions of American families whose health care will be ripped away if Republicans continue with their dangerous and irresponsible plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“The cruelty, carelessness and contempt Republicans are showing for working families boggles the mind,” said Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. “Every iteration of TrumpCare has been more desperate and monstrous than the one before. The lives of men, women and children across America are on the line and Democrats will keep fighting with all our strength to protect our care.”

Activists from the Women’s March, Tax March, Science March, Organizing for Action, Indivisible, MoveOn.org, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Center for Popular Democracy, Stand Up America, Our Revolution, Center for American Progress Action Fund, and others will join together to host the national event in Washington, D.C. holding Members of Congress accountable who supported efforts to repeal the ACA.

The Our Lives on the Line rally will feature the personal stories of those directly impacted by the disastrous plans to repeal the ACA, including activists, advocates, celebrities, and elected officials opposed to repeal efforts that would gut Medicaid, raise health care costs for working families, and eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
